POTA Annual Support Your Parks Plaque Event

Are you looking for an opportunity to demonstrate your park activating and/or hunting prowess? Here is your chance! 4 times a year POTA has a sesonal "Support Your Parks Event" to encourage individuals to get out in the parks and make contacts. The summer event however, takes on some additional meaning. During the summer event, one of the program administrators volunteers to coordinate the sponsorship and give-away of plaques based on the results of the 48 hour long activity.

These are no ordinary QSO party plaques! Up for grabs are premium series plaques, on black piano-finish wood. The award is laser engraved on an 8x10 textured black aluminum plate with a silver Florentine border - these are high quality awards that any operator should be proud to hang on the wall of their shack! Check out previous years results further down this page for actual pictures of previously awarded plaques.

The first annual plaque season started when N3VEM and K0ATZ decided to sponser a plaque each - one for hunters and one for activators. The event was very successful, so starting in 2019 there will be a slightly larger selection of plaques available. For 2019 we are now "fully sponsored" but if you are considering sponsoring a plaque next year, please review the sponsorship information so that you are ready to go when the 2020 plaque season comes around!

2019 Event

July 20th and 21st UTC

Available Plaques have been expanded for 2019. Contact N3VEM at n3vem@parksontheair.com if you would like information on sponsoring of one of these plaques. Participants who win a category for which the plaque remains unsponsored will have the opportunity to purchase their own plaque if desired.
